Pastoral Residency (Non-Licensure)
Prism Counseling is currently offering (2) pastoral residency positions for Fall 2023 (Late September to Early December). This program is designed for those in pastoral ministry (or who are seeking to be in pastoral ministry). This is not a counseling internship or practicum for those seeking state-licensure, but for those in pastoral ministry seeking to expand their skills in pastoral care and counseling. The program is ideal for those currently in a ministry degree program. This program is different from other pastoral residencies in that is an intensive focused on building skills in pastoral counseling and care. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a counseling setting while advancing your skills through a comprehensive pastoral care training program. This residency includes the following:

- ACPE Pastoral Care Specialist Course:
- Enroll in and complete the ACPE Pastoral Care Specialist course offered by our counseling practice.
- Actively participate in training sessions, workshops, and educational activities provided in the course.
- Apply the knowledge gained through the course to enhance client interactions and support.
- Work with 1-2 clients through the practice providing short-term pastoral counseling (to fulfill the practicum portion of the program).
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with office tasks around marketing and outreach.
- Write 3-4 blog articles for the practice webpage.
- Network with local churches and community organizations.
- Run social media campaigns across various platforms.
- Professional Development:
- Work with 1-2 clients providing short-term pastoral counseling services (same as 1.4 listed above)
- Engage in self-reflection and seek feedback from instructor to enhance personal and professional growth.
- Participate in supervision and mentoring sessions to further develop counseling skills.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on practice policies and procedures.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a counseling, psychology, social work, pastoral care, or related program.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards clients' diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost professionalism.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with email and Google Workspace.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Enrollment or willingness to enroll in the ACPE Pastoral Care Specialist course.
