Hi, my name is Tres Adames and I am a personal trainer and a counselor with Prism Counseling & Coaching in Phoenix, Arizona. I have helped thousands of clients achieve transformation over my 13 years of experience as a therapist and coach. This unique background helps me provide more than just workout plans, I guide clients through lasting behavioral changes and a total lifestyle transformation. My struggle with weight started early. I was overweight as a child, teenager, and young adult. In my early twenties, I decided to get serious about my health and lost over 60 pounds through changing my eating habits and becoming more active. I managed to keep the weight off for several years, but in my mid-30s, it started creeping back. During that time, I also battled lethargy and depression, which turned out to be symptoms of an autoimmune thyroid condition called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. With proper treatment and a dedicated fitness regimen, I shed those 60 pounds once more, and my mental health also improved. |
Now at 43, I'm in the best shape of my life and often get mistaken for being much younger. But don't worry, I'm not about that intense, "no pain, no gain" gym culture. I'm not a fitfluencer or former athlete, I'm just a regular person who has learned the skills needed to bring lasting change. Having been overweight for years of my life, I understand the journey firsthand: the struggles, setbacks, and all.

My approach is friendly, educational, and understanding, not intimidating. I became a personal trainer because I enjoy helping people and I've lived the challenges myself, not because I've always been fit. My approach blends time-tested natural bodybuilding techniques with the latest research to create tailored workout programs.

A good workout doesn’t have to feel like punishment. I design training programs based on your current fitness level and the equipment you have access to, whether that’s a full gym, home setup, or something in between. The goal is steady progress, growing strength, and confidence over time. |
Training Programs
My fitness coaching begins with an initial fitness assessment, which is the foundation of all our work together. In this initial session, we take key measurements (weight, body fat percentage, and waist), clarify goals (fat loss, muscle gain, recomposition, weight change, or general health), and calculate nutrition targets using established formulas based on your body and goals. We also discuss food preferences and choose a nutrition approach you’re actually likely to follow (low-carb, low-fat, higher protein, etc.).
A key part of this process is setting up ChatGPT as a personalized support system. During the session, I create and organize dedicated threads for nutrition, workouts, and tracking, and show you how to use them to log daily and weekly progress and make adjustments over time. This allows your plan to adapt as your body changes, instead of starting over. Follow-up sessions are encouraged to support consistency, accountability, and ongoing adjustments.
