Hi, my name is Tres Adames and I am a personal trainer and a counselor with Prism Counseling & Coaching in Phoenix, Arizona. I have helped thousands of clients achieve transformation over my 12 years of experience as a therapist and coach. This unique background helps me provide more than just workout plans — I guide clients through lasting behavioral changes and a total lifestyle transformation. Whether you're stepping into your fitness journey for the first time or trying to get back on track, it helps to have a guide so you don't get lost or discouraged. My programs are not only achievable but sustainable too, ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.

My struggle with weight started early — I was overweight as a child, teenager, and young adult. In my early twenties, I decided to get serious about my health and lost over 60 pounds through changing my eating habits and becoming more active. I managed to keep the weight off for several years, but in my mid-30s, it started creeping back. During that time, I also battled lethargy and depression, which turned out to be symptoms of an autoimmune thyroid condition called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. With proper treatment and a dedicated fitness regimen, I shed those 60 pounds once more, and my mental health also improved.

Now at 41, I'm in the best shape of my life and often get mistaken for being much younger. But don't worry, I'm not about that intense, "no pain, no gain" gym culture. I'm not a fitfluencer or former athlete, I'm just a regular person who has learned the skills needed to bring lasting change. Having been overweight for years of my life, I understand the journey firsthand: the struggles, setbacks, and all.

​My approach is friendly, educational, and understanding — not intimidating. I became a personal trainer because I enjoy helping people and I've lived the challenges myself, not because I've always been fit. I specialize in guiding those at the beginning of their fitness journey (or those looking to start again). My approach blends time-tested natural bodybuilding techniques with the latest research to create tailored workout programs.

As a therapist and counselor with years of experience, I bring a unique edge to fitness coaching by integrating the mind and body. My approach transcends conventional methods, incorporating psychological techniques that boost motivation and prevent discouragement and self-sabotage. This holistic perspective allows me to design realistic and sustainable coaching programs that harmonize mental and physical health, ensuring you achieve and maintain your goals for years to come.

Many believe that a good workout means punishing yourself for every indulgence, but that’s not my style. I design workouts based on your current level of fitness. Whether you have access to a full gym or just some basic equipment at home (or even none at all), I can create a program that suits what’s available to you. My goal is to help you feel energized and capable, with exercises that evolve as you grow stronger and more confident. ​

​A Realistic Approach to Eating
Forget about crash diets. I’m here to guide you through a doable eating approach, which includes some of your favorite foods rather than eliminating all of them. Extreme diets are difficult to sustain and many people even regain the weight they lost (or gain even more) after they quit. My approach is about adding nutritious foods rather than taking away your favorite foods that make life a joy.

This is not a one-size-fits-all plan. Each plan is custom made with meticulously curated strategies based on where you are now and where you want to go. You'll receive a personalized plan in PDF format with all the information you need to reference during your transformation. Your plan will be easy to read and easy to understand. Each plan includes:

Coaching Sessions

If you purchase a plan that includes coaching, Tres offers in-person, online, or off-site sessions tailored to your needs. You can use any combination of these options with your plan after your initial assessment. If you don't know what to choose, Tres will help you program and schedule your sessions during your first meeting.

    Discuss goals and strategy while walking with Tres at a local trail or walking path. Emphasis is placed on behavioral coaching to keep you motivated and on track, combining physical activity with personalized guidance.
