About Me

Hi, my name is Crystal Tena. I am a Master's-Level Board Certified Biblical Counselor and a Certified Trauma and Resilience Life Coach. I provide pastoral counseling and coaching for adults, teens, and couples. I specialize in working with those dealing with trauma, as well as various emotional, relational, and spiritual issues. I am a San Diego native enjoying the Arizona sun for the past 20 years. I love loud music, chips with salsa, and fishing. I also enjoy silence and a good nap.

My Approach

I’m passionate about helping teens, adults, and couples learn new ways of coping with the ups and downs of life. The majority of my clients experience common struggles like stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and issues around faith. My approach is trauma-informed; integrating the complexities of psychology, neurobiology, and religion.

My goal is that every client feels welcomed, loved, and accepted. I promise to be patient and truthful. Our time together should feel casual, comfortable, and above all else, it should feel safe. My practice skills are trauma-informed and integrate theology, psychology, and neurobiology.

My Background, Qualifications, and Experience

I have a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary and am a Board Certified Biblical Counselor (BCBC#765) through the American Association of Christian Counselors Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors. I am also a Certified Trauma and Resilience Life Coach through the Arizona Trauma Institute and a Certified Trauma Professional (CCTP-1) with an emphasis in Complex Trauma (cPTSD).

I have several years of experience working with clients from various backgrounds dealing with a variety of emotional, relational, and spiritual issues. I have also collaborated with many churches and ministries in the Phoenix area throughout the years. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
