Remembering Crystal Tena1982 - 2025
We are deeply saddened to share that Crystal Tena, a pastoral counselor with Prism Counseling & Coaching, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2025.
Crystal was a warm and deeply caring person whose presence brought calm and hope to those around her. She had a special gift for helping people feel seen, heard, and loved, especially those carrying the weight of trauma or heartbreak. Crystal loved connecting theology, psychology, and the human experience in a way that helped people find healing and resilience. Outside of her work, Crystal was a loving and attentive mother. A San Diego native who had made Arizona her home for over twenty years, she loved loud music, chips and salsa, and fishing. Her joy, humor, and faith left a mark on everyone who knew her. Crystal owned her own private practice called Side by Side Counseling for several years. She worked, contracted, and collaborated with Prism Counseling & Coaching the last three years of her life. Though her time with us was far too short, her kindness and compassion will continue to affect the lives she touched for years to come. We are grateful for the privilege of knowing and working alongside her, and we hold her family and her children in our hearts and prayers. —Tres Adames, posted 10/24/2025 |
"The greatest thing we have to offer is our presence. To draw near. To see people. To listen—to actually invite them to speak. We don't necessarily have to fix. God has not called us to fix what only He can fix. God has not called us to comfort in ways that only He can comfort. God calls us to 'one another' each other, drawing near and bearing each other's burdens." —Crystal Tena
