Remembering Rev. Brooks Gibson1960 - 2022
We are sad to announce that the Reverend Brooks Gibson, MEd, a pastoral counselor with Prism Counseling & Coaching, passed away unexpectedly on May 3rd, 2022. Brooks was a very special person, a beloved father, a trusted pastor, and amazing clinician.
His presence will be greatly missed, but the seeds he planted in the lives of his family, friends, and clients will continue to produce a harvest that is “a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown” (Matthew 13:8, NIV). His work with the thousands of clients, couples, and families he helped will echo for generations and into eternity. Brooks worked as a counselor for over 30 years in private practice, in community organizations, and in the family and juvenile court system. He worked with all ages including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. He dedicated his life to helping clients overcome a wide range of difficult emotional, relational, marital, familial, and clinical issues. Brooks was also an ordained minister and a state certified community college instructor in psychology, counseling, and chemical dependency. He taught for over 16 years at various schools, including Arizona College of the Bible, Glendale Community College, and Paradise Valley Community College. He was a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Brooks was the past director of counseling at the Arizona Justice Center and worked as a pastoral counselor in his private practice he named Mending Lives. He worked, contracted, and collaborated with Prism Counseling & Coaching the last 9 years of his life. He was taken too soon and it was a privilege to work with him. He dedicated his entire life's work to hear the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21, NIV). —Tres Adames, posted 5/4/2022 |
