Hi, I’m Dr. Phil Ladd. As a licensed professional counselor and pastoral psychotherapist, I work with adults, teens, couples, and LGBTQ+ clients navigating a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. My approach blends clinical expertise with a compassionate, relational style — always grounded in respect for each person’s unique story, values, and goals.

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, and relationship concerns, and I am certified in EMDR, a powerful, evidence-based therapy for trauma and PTSD. Whether you're facing the lingering effects of past experiences or struggling with present-day stress, I offer practical support and deep presence to help you move forward with clarity and hope.

My approach — with decades of experience in both counseling and ministry, I bring a steady, thoughtful presence to the therapy room. My clients appreciate my ability to listen without judgment, to hold space for big emotions, and to guide the process with care and insight. A bit about me — I moved to Arizona from the Midwest to be closer to my children and grandchildren, and I’m grateful to call the Valley home. Outside of counseling, I enjoy music, reading, racquet sports, and spending time with my family. I’ve also been active in social justice work and church ministry throughout my life.

As for my credentials, I hold a Doctorate in Marriage & Family Therapy and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I am certified in EMDR and Geriatric Counseling, and I’m ordained through the Progressive Christian Alliance. Over the years, I’ve co-owned a thriving counseling practice in Illinois, served as Vice President of a nonprofit children’s home, and worked extensively with families, clergy, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
